You can print one sided using dvips by using the following command:

dvips -f [dvi file] | lpr -o sides=one-sided -P [printer name]

From a MAC:

From Mac OS X 10.1 or higher

1. In the Finder, click on the Go menu
2. Select “Connect to Server”

3. In the “Server Address:” field enter

smb://smbhost.math.purdue.edu/{yourusername}

4. Click the “+” button on the right side of the field to
add this address to your favorites.

5. Set the “WorkGroup or Domain” field to ‘MATH’.
6. Enter your Math account login for “Name” and your Math account password for “Password”

To connect to your Math Account from a computer that is connected to the internet on campus:

From a PC running Windows:

1. Right click the Start menu.

2. Click Explore.

3. On the Tools menu, click Map Network Drive.

4. In Drive, select a drive letter.

5. In Folder, type in the string

\\smbhost.math.purdue.edu\yourloginid

where “yourloginid” is your Math login id.

6. When prompted, enter your Math Account login and password

If you are running Windows XP/2000/NT, you may need to use the option on the Map Network Drive window Connect using different user name and enter your Math Account login and password. With Windows 98, your local User name must match your Math Account login.

One, relatively easy, method for encrypting your email can be had through the use of an S/MIME certificate. Thawte is an international company that provides free email certificates.
